Food Quality The pancakes were most excellent. Right amount of fluffy and sweet. Had some corned beef hash with eggs, that was good. The vanilla milkshake though was more milk than milkshake but the strawberry milkshake was good. The food was great. Haven't had pancakes like that in a while. Service We came in around 445 in the afternoon, aside from our table, there were only 2 other people in the diner, still our server forgot the silverware, the whipped cream on the pancakes, no salt on the table and no napkins. I am unsure why the server was a bit behind on everything. She was friendly and seemed nice but if there were only 3 tables occupied, I did expect a certain level of service. Location Extremely convenient. Literally roadside as roadside diners would go. Inside the diner is clean and very cozy comfortable.

Well I have to admit... it's usually very hard to surprise me with all the places I've eaten or visited across this great country of ours. However this little dinner along a very busy roadside was a pleasant surprise. The food was hot, the service was very good and the atmosphere was comfortable and extremely clean with pleasant sounds to soothe the spirit. Recommended while you're passing through from anywhere. ~V.

Barnside Diner: Locals are going to cringe when they read this positive review. The Barnside is busy but their service is fast so the line moves quickly. They give you a reasonable cup of coffee right away. The order comes out quickly. The hash browns were perfect. Crispy and hot with a generous portion of eggs and bacon or sausage. One of my pet peeves is cold toast with some butter like substance on it, not to worry here. The toast comes out hot and you can add real butter yourself and it melts. Yum. Coffee refills before you run out too! A good breakfast at reasonable prices with great service. If your in or traveling in the DC area google this place and visit. It’s right off 395 not far from the 495/95 exchange south of DC. 4.5 out of 5 rating due to great staff and good product. The only negative is its smaller than it should be. They could use more seating.

We go here every week. They have GREAT food with a wide range of food. Breakfast served all day as well as their lunch/dinner menu. GREAT service, they have such a friendly staff that is also attentive and quick. Barnside is an all around great place and I would highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone

This place used to be a decent place to visit but it has become one of the worst recently. I walked in yesterday and wasn’t greeted by anyone although both staff members saw me. I went up to them and asked if I should seat myself as there were no clean booths. One of the waiters told me to have a seat in the dirty booth until someone comes to clean it. After I sat down (in the middle of used cups and dirty dishes) someone came to clean up. Then I waited 10 minutes for that same waiter to come over and tell me “oh I didn’t give you a menu.” After she gave me a menu, I took a moment to look around the diner. It was incredibly dirty and there was practically no service. I asked for a cup of water and the cup had brown stains on it. At this point I got up and left. I’d say, make this place your last resort, it’s dirty and the service is incredibly lacking.
